Out With the Old, In With a Bang!

Out With the Old, In With a Bang!

We’re jumping into the new year a day early. Screw last year! The past year has been rough, full of ups and downs and piles of steaming crap that resemble dead famous people. But this coming year, the year of 2014? It’s going to be good, and I’m jumping in with both feet. To start off that wonderful year, I just wanted to take a moment to say a few things to all of you incredible people. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for all the support you’ve given me, and all the strength you’ve donated. You’ve made the hard times a little easier, and that’s no small feat. In the past few years I’ve published four books and brought a close the main story line in The Protector. This series has reached an audience like I cannot believe, all because of the great reviews and all the help in spreading the word that you’ve offered me. You’ve made a dream come true for me, and there are no words of thanks or appreciation to tell you what that means to me. And the story is still growing! I’m reaching new readers every day, and there is a core audience of amazing fans that are responsible for that. You. I’m extremely thankful for the all the opportunities I’ve been granted over the years, most recently the chance to be featured in my local Chapters book store. The books have been flying off the shelves, and my mind has officiously been blown…again. This year I want to get out there and approach more bookstores. Seeing my books on the shelves in a real book store was pretty awesome, and I want to expand there and see what I can do on my own! Some of you have reached out to me with kind words of support, and some with ideas for future growth in The Protector. I’ve had a lot of ideas for The Protector and the characters inside it, and the fact that people are asking for more books means I’m on to something, and because of that, in 2014 I’ll be working on something special regarding  a specific character or two, but I won’t tell you who just yet. You have to stay tuned for that 🙂 2014 is going to be an amazing year. I want to work hard to grow the audience I’ve already found, because you all have been so amazing, and it’s a surreal thing to have people tell you how much they love something you’ve created. I want more people to feel that way about my books, especially teens, the audience I originally wrote it for. I want to find a way to get more young people reading this year, because I wrote Exiled originally to be the book I never had growing up. That book I could have related too, the...

Endure Release Day

Endure Release Day

Posted by on Jun 5, 2013 in News, Protector Series | 12 comments

It’s finally here. Endure is now available! Today is an strange day. You’d think there would be nothing but pure excitement on my end, and in all honesty, that excitement is right here with me, but it’s also surrounded by fear and sadness. Fear because every time I release a new book it’s scary. Sadness because this means the series really is over. I know I’ve spoken about working within the same world again, and even with some of the same characters, but it’ll never be as it is now. It’ll be something new! That doesn’t change the fact that I’m excited to put all my focus into The Nova Chronicles, which has been sitting dust-ridden inside my computer, but it’s the end of something special for me. My first-ever published series. If you read the acknowledgements, you’ll see a big thank you to my readers for all their support, so I won’t go into rehashing all that here, but please know that it means the world to me. I’d be nowhere without my readers. You all mean so much to me. Today is a very special day, and you helped make it what it is. Thank you for that. Now, onto what you want to know. Where can I buy it? You can find purchase links on the Books page for Endure, but you’ll find not all the links are available yet. The reason being is that I’m still waiting for some of the sites to load the book. Barnes & Noble is always troublesome for me. In some cases it’s up in a week, while others it takes as long as six weeks. The good news is that the book is available at Amazon and Smashwords. If you don’t have a Kindle, you can download the book in any format from Smashwords and load it onto your eReader of choice. As for the paperback, I’m awaiting the proof copy to be delivered (hopefully by Friday) and as long as everything looks good, it will be available as early as next week. Again, it’ll take time to get it up on B&N, but it should be available on Createspace and Amazon sometime next week. If there are any issues with the proof, I’ll be sure to keep you updated. Other than that, I know I’ve been very MIA lately and I apologize, but sometimes life throws you a curveball and you need to step away from everything else to make sure it doesn’t take your head off! I’m trying to get my focus back into everything else, and I appreciate all the support and concern some of you have shown me, but I am alive and well, I promise! I’ll be getting back into work slowly, and hopefully by Fall, you’ll be ready to join me on my new adventure known as The Nova Chronicles! Thanks to everyone for...

On The Horizon

On The Horizon

There is a ton of stuff happening over the next month. Tomorrow is the cover reveal for Endure, which, if you haven’t noticed, I’m beyond excited about. I had to make some changes in operations this time around with cover artists, and I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been nervous about it. As you’ll see tomorrow, that nervousness was not necessary. Parajunkee Design, the talent behind this entire website, has put together my absolute favorite book cover in the series. I’ve had it for a while now and even still, I look at it and it just feels right. It’s the perfect cover to wrap around what has become my favorite book in the series as well. This entire journey feels surreal right now. Knowing that on June 5th I’ll have published the final book in my first series is…well, overwhelming is one word that comes to mind. As tomorrow is May 1st, and the cover reveal, I won’t be posting my Blogger/Author alerts until May 2nd and 3rd. This month I have two pretty great people coming at you, but this month is also going to signify some change as well. Starting in June, I’m changing the process. Rather than spotlight one author and one blogger for the entire month, I’m going to do either or, and alternate them. The reason being is that I tend to make the  interviews a little longer, and often times I leave them to the last minute (no matter how many times I tell myself I won’t do that again). I’m really trying to focus on writing my new series, and since I like to invest a fair bit of time in my interviews, it makes more sense right now to have one of them each month rather than two. So to recap, this month you get a blogger and an author, but next month it will be one or the other, and we’ll mix it up from there. This Saturday I’m off to a writing workshop with Donald Maass, and I have to tell you, I am very excited. I started reading his book, Writing 21st Century Fiction, and it’s pretty awesome. I’ve stayed away from reading book on writing, for no other reason than I’d rather be writing, but I wanted to prepare myself for his workshop, and I’m very happy that I’ve taken this on. I’m already mentally developing all kinds of advances in my upcoming series, The Nova Chronicles, that might not have been put into place without his book. It’s going to amplify my ability to tell a story, of that much I am certain. In 36 days, Endure is officially going live on all online sales outlets. This is the book. The way it all comes together. The story funnelling down into a single climax of epic proportions. I hope that with your help, this release can be a huge success....
