You’ve read me ramble, you’ve seen me freak out (only a little right?), and you’ve seen me dance with excitement. Well you haven’t seen me dance, but your picturing it now aren’t you?
Exiled is 6 days away, and I’m not sure what to do with myself. I left a few things to the last minute, and some things that are going to be coming up very late.
First, I didn’t get involved soon enough with the ISBN system. In Canada, we get these for free, but they can till take up to 6 weeks to deal with all the paperwork, etc. So I’ve started that process, but to start, Exiled will not have it’s own ISBN. At least not the eBook.
The paperback is going to be released a month behind the eBook. I’m hoping to have it released in August, but again, that depends on how quickly the ISBN number comes in, and how well I format it so that I only need to see 1 proof before I approve it.
With the paperback, something special is coming. Something I hope will build some more hype for it’s release. I won’t say what it is, because it’ll be a surprise. It’s something I really should’ve done before the launch of the book, but I don’t care. I’m hoping it will build some hype around the paperback’s release specifically.
Now that I’ll have the eBook on the market, that’ll be one huge weight off my shoulders and I can focus on a few other things. Like starting to edit Shift, which will commence in one week. I also have a handful of books I’ve been putting off reading because I haven’t had the time. Now I’ll be able to get my hands on some of them, focus on editing Shift, and prepping Exiled for the paperback.
With all this comes a few other things that I’m saving to talk to you about later. Nothing epic, so don’t get too excited, but they’re exciting for me so we’ll discuss that later. I’ve been e-mailing reviewers all weekend and I have nearly a dozen lined up for Exiled now. I know, again, I should’ve had this done before the release, but as before “I don’t care.” I’m happy to have the exposure whether it comes now, or in a months time. If you are a reviewer, or you know one you think would love Exiled, e-mail me and let me know. The more reviews I can line the interwebz with, the better.
That’s all the news I’m prepared to share with you today. I will say this: If you don’t already follow me on Twitter, you should be ashamed of yourself. Random Made-up Word of the Day should not be missed. Even by you. *Points finger*
